The Red Sea Orchestra grew out of the musical tradition of Yemenite Jewry — the poetry of the Diwan, the songs of women, and the melodies passed from generation to generation — and gives it a rich, contemporary orchestral setting.

From these Yemenite roots, the orchestra sets out on a musical journey among the cultures surrounding the Red Sea — from Israel, through Ethiopia, to Yemen. It weaves together ancient traditions, rhythms, voices and instruments, creating a living, evolving music that connects past and present, communities and cultures.
